| The Alfred Deakin Eco-Innovation Lectures 2009 Studio Propeller is contracted by Melbourne University to manage the marketing, communications and event coordination for the 2009 Alfred Deakin Eco-Innovation Lectures. This series of lectures are being curated in 2009 by Prof. Chris Ryan of the Victorian Eco-Innovation Lab under the theme “Climate and Innovation, Building the Low Carbon Economy Now!”. The Deakins are an ongoing initiative of the State Government of Victoria through the Department of Innovation Industry and Regional Development. For 2009, the Deakins adopts a new format, events will occur from July to December, featuring international speakers in a program of free lectures. Chris Ryan's theme - 'Climate and Innovation' - links the inescapable challenge of climate change to the spirit of creativity and innovation.
