Unlimited: Designing for the Asia Pacific 2010-2013
Unlimited is the centerpiece of the Queensland Government’s Queensland Design Strategy 2020. It is a new major triennial design event for the Asia Pacific region that advocates the value of design to our future and promotes the value of design thinking in shaping a positive future for the Asia Pacific.
Unlimited provides opportunities for businesses, governments, students, community groups and individuals to collaborate on common ground – as we search together for sustainable and commercially viable solutions to intractable problems.
In October 2010 Unlimited launched its inaugural event in Brisbane, with a broad weeklong international program of public talks, workshops, exhibitions, a business symposium, and a series of master classes and youth events.
A major website and digital program were launched to coincide with the physical event.
Propeller is contracted by Arts Events Management Australasia to lead the development of the program (2010 – 2013). This includes developing the thematic, curating the major events, inviting international speakers and leading the creative direction of the whole project. Our Creative Director, Ewan McEoin is Creative Director of Unlimited.
The 2010 program was delivered in partnership with others. Something Together curated the public program, Parcel edited the website and catalogue, R.Co developed the brand, Smith Peony did the graphic design. Arts Events Management Australasia is the lead contractor and managed and produced the event. The 2013 program is currently in development.
